NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

ASL Sign Language Club will meet Thursdays during tutorial this year in room 6-200. Our next meeting will take place on September 17th. If you need a pass or the code to join our Google Classroom, please come see Ms. Farrell. Thank you!

McDowell Students, for the 2026-2027 school year, we will be introducing the Peer Review Club, an outlet designed to provide students with assistance for their English Language written work. We will meet Tuesdays, but we do offer support outside of weekly meetings. Ask your English teacher or email 145187@mtsd.org to sign up and get English support.

Attention 11th and 12th graders. The military is entitled to request your name, address, and telephone number. If you do not wish your information to be released to the military, please stop by the main office in either building and pick up an opt-out form. Forms are due back to the offices by October 1.

Attention Swifties! Our first meeting of the year will be held this Friday, September 18th during tutorial in room 2-202 (McD North). Stop by for an "Enchanted" time as we step into the world of Speak Now! There will be Taylor-themed activities, crafts, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate one of the most iconic eras. Email Mrs. Gildersleeve (gildersleeve@mtsd.org) if you have any questions or would like to attend. 

There will be an esports practice this Tuesday in MCD-South room 008, which is in the basement. It will start right after school and go until 3:30pm.

GUIDANCE ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Attention all college bound 11th and 12th grade students:   Representatives from the following schools will be meeting with students in the McDowell South HUB next week:   Ohio Northern University, PA College of Technology, University of Mount Union, RIT, Elizabethtown College, Gannon University, Penn State University, Ohio University, Duquesne University, Queens University of Charlotte, and Alfred University.  If you are interested in learning more about any of these schools, you must sign up in Naviance in order to get a pass to attend!! Just click on "Colleges", then "Visits."  Any questions, please see Mrs. Gilroy.

Hello Students!  Are you someone who likes books, but has no one to share your thoughts or ideas about what you read?  Are you someone who participated in Battle of the Books in the past or likes showing your creative side through writing?  If you are, McDowell Literacy Club may be the organization for you!  This is a READING CLUB that gives members the opportunity to share their interests, plus a whole lot more.  If you are interested in participating, the club will meet next Monday , September 14th immediately after school in room 2-205 at McDowell North.   For more information, please see or contact Mr. Schilajew at schilajew@mtsd.org.  Thank you!

Attention! If you want to live by the motto "Caring-Our Way of Life", then Key Club is for you! Join us for an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 15th in the McDowell North Humanities Commons during tutorial. Key Club is a volunteer-based program that will assist you in earning hours and becoming a better version of yourself. Because it is an informational meeting, there will be no passes given. Please mark the student present then let them come down. A sign in sheet will be available. Hope to see everyone there!
