GUIDANCE ANNOUNCEMENTS:

If you are interested in visiting Gannon University on September 16th or Slippery Rock University on September 23rd, please see Mrs. Gilroy for the permission slip. Both trips will include an admissions presentation, student panel, campus tour, and lunch. Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to attend. Space is limited, so sign up today.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Varsity football welcomes Cardon High School in their first home game! The evening starts with a tailgate at Country Fair across from McDowell at 5:30, followed by Pre-Game Festivities at 6:30 and the game at 7:00! On Saturday, varsity boys and girls cross country host the McDowell Invitational at Brown's Farm starting at 9:00 and JV football hosts Chardon High School in a 10:00 game.

REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

There will be a boys basketball meeting, for 9th graders, JV and Varsity in room 200 at McDowell South during tutorial on Friday September 4. Please contact Coach O'Connor with any questions.

McDowell CPA 2026–27 Theater Season Announcement! The McDowell CPA will be announcing our 2026–27 theatrical season, along with audition information, on Tuesday, September 8, during Tutorial in the Little Theater! Anyone interested in auditioning, working on stage/tech crew, or playing in the orchestra should attend! Whether you want to be onstage, backstage, or in the pit, we want to see you there! We can’t wait to see everyone! Teachers: Students will not have individual passes to attend this meeting. Please mark them as present and then allow them to head to the Theater. See Mr. Johnson with any questions!

Attention Students!  Don't miss your opportunity to join the amazing McDowell Academic Decathlon team!   Compete against students from all across the nation in categories such as music, math, literature, speech, art, and economics.  Interested students should attend an introductory meeting on Tuesday September 8th or Thursday September 10th in room 2207 after school until 3pm

Attention all AFJROTC cadets - BOTH SEMESTERS.  There is a mandatory meeting for all cadets, both semesters, today Friday, Sept 4th, in the ROTC room in the basement of North. Again, this is for all cadets. So if you're listening to this announcement thinking, "Gee, I don't have ROTC until next semester. I wonder if this means me?" YES, it means you. All cadets must show to the ROTC room for tutorial on Friday, Sept 4th for a mandatory meeting.

Attention 9th and 10th grade students:  Starting Tuesday September 8th, after school help will be offered in the McDowell North Library.  Every Tuesday and Thursday is Math help, and every Wednesday is Bonus Study hall for help in any subject. Students can also stay on Wednesdays after school just to complete work, make up a test, or use library resources.
